Meet Your Judge

“I am one of Australia’s top dog groomers with over 35 years experience and have been grooming dogs in New South Wales where and am also a registered breeder and exhibitor of pure bred dogs since 1988 with best in show winning terriers under the “Bellegum” and “Amfamous prefixes in Australia.

I have completed a certificate IV in teaching and assessment which has been beneficial as l have trained and mentored many young groomers in the craft of trimming and presenting dogs for salon and show, including grooming seminars in Australia and New Zealand.

My very first experience with competition grooming was in early 1990’s where I was awarded Runner up Best in Show with a fully hand stripped Irish Terrier.

I achieved many Best In Show results after that first year and on two separate occasions had groomed three out of the five winners standing on the podium in competition winning on both occasions the coveted Best in Show trophy.

My Best in Show wins included Hand stripped, Pure Bred Scissor and Poodle classes. Winning the highest awards with many breeds including the Wire Fox Terrier, Standard Poodle, Kerry Blue Terrier, Scottish Terrier, Bedlington Terrier and Pomeranian.

Travelling Member of Groom team Australia in 2011 and again in 2024 when Australia placed 5th overall winner in Belgium with my hand scissored Bichon Frise.

I have participated in international grooming competitions placing in 4 different countries at the masters level, including winning the championship 1st place Trophy at Master level (scissored pure bred class) at the World grooming tittle held in Belgium 2011 with a Kerry Blue Terrier.

I was winner of Australia’s Supreme Groomer award for 2016 and 2017 with a Bedlington terrier.

I was an Oster sponsored representative at the 2013 Pet Expo in C.A USA where I was also a guest instructor for the week at the NASH grooming Academy in Lexington Kentucky USA and completed the online learning course and suggested improvements that were discussed and implemented to future online courses.

I travelled to the world dog show in 2014 to trim and exhibit a Bedlington Terrier who won the junior title and Best dog award.

As a dog grooming competition Judge I have awarded to Best In Show all levels and disciplines.

A was awarded a certificate of appreciation for the service of dogs from DOGS NSW Australia.

I have been a financial member of DogsNSW for 38 years. Currently presenting top winning dogs for show in Australia, Including terriers, non sporting, toys, hounds and gundogs to Best In Show level.

The most notable for me was the Gordon Setter to take top honors at the Sydney Royal Easter Show (Aust Supreme Ch Triseter Celtic Tartan), a dog I groomed that achieved the prestigious Best in Show title at the ADVANCE Sydney Royal.

A have won Terrier of the year BTC Point score Competition, with a Wire Fox Terrier.

And I have achieved Multi BISS All Breeds and Specialty Best in Shows with my home bred Wire and Smooth Fox Terriers.

I have been a Licensed Terrier Judge (group 2) since 2008 at Championship level.

I have Judged terrier specialty shows in most states of Australia, New Zealand and in Europe including an FCI judge at the National Terrier Show in Leipzig Germany in 2017.

I recent years I was overall winner and Champion pet stylist/groomer of Channel Seven’s POOCH PERFECT television show which aired in 2020. I continue teach,listen and learn to know all there is to know about my chosen profession.
